Driveways, Patios & Paving

The surface is only one part of a paving project. Existing ground, the intended use, drainage and the preparation underneath all influence the result. Tell the contractor whether the area will take vehicles, furniture or foot traffic and explain any puddling, movement or unevenness in the current surface.

Perfect Tradesmen is preparing for launch. Registering interest does not book work or guarantee an available tradesperson.

Jobs to discuss with a professional

  • Patio and garden path installation
  • Driveway replacement and resurfacing
  • Repairs to uneven or damaged paving

Before you ask for a quote

  • Give approximate dimensions and explain how the area is used.
  • Discuss drainage and levels at doors, buildings and neighbouring boundaries.
  • Ask for preparation, materials, edging and waste removal to be listed in the quote.
  • Agree who will check any permissions or other requirements before work begins.

How can I compare two paving quotes?

Check that both cover the same area, preparation, surface material and thickness, edging, drainage and disposal. A cheaper surface price may exclude work included elsewhere. Ask how unexpected ground conditions will be handled and recorded before agreeing to changes.

For any quote, agree the work, exclusions, timing and how changes will be approved. Keep a written record so both sides know what is included.
