Tiling & Tile Repairs
Good tiling starts with a suitable surface and a clear layout. Tile size, patterns, corners and changes of level can affect the work involved. Tell the tiler whether this is a dry area, a splashback or a wet area, and whether existing tiles need to be removed before the new finish is installed.

Jobs to discuss with a professional
- Kitchen splashbacks
- Bathroom wall and floor tiling
- Replacement tiles and grout repairs
Before you ask for a quote
- Give the approximate area, tile size and preferred layout.
- Explain the condition of the existing surface and any movement or leaks.
- Agree who supplies tiles, trims, adhesive and grout, including spare material.
- Discuss preparation and wet-area protection as part of the complete job.
Can new tiles go over existing tiles?
That depends on the condition and suitability of the existing surface, the added weight and the finished levels. Ask the tiler to assess it rather than assuming it will save preparation. Door clearances, edges and fittings may also be affected.
For any quote, agree the work, exclusions, timing and how changes will be approved. Keep a written record so both sides know what is included.
