Carpentry & Joinery

Carpentry projects often need a balance between appearance, storage and the dimensions of an existing room. Photos, a rough sketch and a description of how the finished item will be used help more than a style reference alone. Explain whether you want a custom build, an adjustment or repair to an existing item.

Perfect Tradesmen is preparing for launch. Registering interest does not book work or guarantee an available tradesperson.

Jobs to discuss with a professional

  • Fitted shelving and storage
  • Internal doors, skirting and trim
  • Timber repairs and bespoke joinery

Before you ask for a quote

  • Measure the space approximately and note awkward corners or obstructions.
  • Discuss the material, hardware and finish you want.
  • Ask whether painting or staining is included or needs a separate decorator.
  • Explain delivery access, occupied rooms and any items that must be protected.

Is assembly work the same as bespoke carpentry?

Assembly uses a supplied product and its fittings; bespoke carpentry creates or adapts something for your space. Both may be useful, but the time and materials differ. Say whether you have purchased a kit or want the carpenter to design and supply the finished item.

For any quote, agree the work, exclusions, timing and how changes will be approved. Keep a written record so both sides know what is included.
