DIY Help & Handyman Services

A list of small unfinished jobs can be harder to organise than one large project. A handyman may be a useful fit for furniture assembly, minor repairs and finishing touches. Describe each task separately so someone can judge the tools, time and skills needed. For work outside general maintenance, choose the appropriate specialist.

Perfect Tradesmen is preparing for launch. Registering interest does not book work or guarantee an available tradesperson.

Jobs to discuss with a professional

  • Flat-pack furniture assembly
  • Shelves, curtain poles and picture hanging
  • Minor door adjustments and household repairs

Before you ask for a quote

  • Group your jobs into one list, with approximate sizes and photos of the area.
  • Say which materials you already have and whether anything needs collecting or removing.
  • Explain wall types and access if known; ask the professional to assess fixings and concealed services.
  • Separate electrical, structural and gas work from general DIY tasks.

Can I ask for help finishing a DIY project?

Yes. Describe what you have completed, what remains and anything that has gone wrong. Include the product instructions if available. That helps a professional assess whether the existing work can be used or needs correcting before they quote.

For any quote, agree the work, exclusions, timing and how changes will be approved. Keep a written record so both sides know what is included.
