Electrical Work & Electricians
Electrical work should begin with a clear description of the result you need, not an assumption about the wiring solution. Tell an electrician about existing fittings, recurring faults and planned changes to the room. This page helps you prepare for a professional discussion; it does not provide DIY wiring instructions.
Perfect Tradesmen is preparing for launch. Registering interest does not book work or guarantee an available tradesperson.
Jobs to discuss with a professional
- Lighting changes and additional fittings
- Socket and switch projects
- Professional assessment of electrical faults
Before you ask for a quote
- List the affected rooms and existing fittings.
- Describe faults without opening equipment or attempting live tests.
- Discuss relevant qualifications, the scope of testing and documentation for the work.
- Ask who will repair any walls or ceilings disturbed during installation.
Can electrical work be combined with decorating?
Yes, but coordinate the order. Changes to wiring or fittings may disturb surfaces, so discuss them before the final plastering and decoration. Agree the position of fittings and who makes good afterwards. Early-interest registration cannot arrange urgent attendance.
For any quote, agree the work, exclusions, timing and how changes will be approved. Keep a written record so both sides know what is included.
